Reading and readers, landscapes and dwellers
An introduction to Heike Renée de Wit’s practice
Heike Renée de Wit is a graphic designer and researcher in gender- and postcolonial studies from the Netherlands, where they work on publishing practices together with Not Just a Collective. Their practice focuses on sharing feminist and decolonial theory with peers, students and artists through readers and workshops. In working together, they love working with the various knowledges that are present, and might meet, when our local perspectives to do with languages and landscapes are centred.
Collecting Knowledge in the Gaps Between our Teeth
An introduction to Zest Kollektiv’s practice
Zest Kollektiv (Lu Herbst, Lucie Jo Knilli, Charlotte Perka, and Lioba Wachtel) is a decentralized working group dedicated to artistic processes of (un)learning and creating spaces of care. Collaborating with students, researchers, and activists, we examine power structures, strengthen intersectional feminist solidarities, and foster collective learning processes. Our practice weaves hosting, reading, bread baking, and sharing into participatory formats, such as reflective dinners. Together with Katharina Brenner and Destina Atasayar, we organized A New School A Summer School – (Re)imagining Learning Environments in 2023. As former students from various art universities, we co-initiated the groups Eine Krise Bekommen, KD Stammtisch, and In the Meantime, which form the roots of our current artistic research practice.
